THE YEAR is 3412 AE, the 32nd day of the Month of Marius. It is the twenty-third year of the reign of Emperor Basil, First of the house Venton, but all is not well in the Empire of Great Falladon.
Rumours of the Emperor’s failing health and ill rule are rampant and commonplace. In the heart of the capital, Falladon itself, there has been a series of riots and protests. Revolution is in the air and some say it is being orchestrated by the former Duke of Falltyra — a Del, now known simply as THE RED HAND.
His agents have spent the past few years and months sowing dissent among the workers, the poor, and the oppressed of the city. In short, all of Falladon is a powder keg waiting to blow. And your choice is a simple one.
Will you fight on the side of the revolution, for the common people? For the fearful and persecuted sorcerers? The overworked and underfed Tuskers?
Or will you storm the barricades and bring order to chaos? For the city’s historic and diverse authorities: its legions, its clergies, and its Magi of the Towers?
The winds of change they blow anew. Smoke rises from the stacks and salt spays the docks. Falladon stands resolute despite the changes.
But fair winds blow from the south and north. Old ideas with new breath. The promises of a better world.
